“Words of Wisdom and Love” – Mali

Mask with three mouths, painted red as a symbol of words of love. One mouth is shaped like a circle, and the other two are half-circles with a line extending upward toward the eyes. On the upper part of the face are two eyes shaped like upside-down triangles; they are hollow to allow the wearer to see through. On the top of the mask sits a figure with two, white-colored heads whose facial features could be those of a woman or a bird.
