Global Art Gallery is responsible for the establishment and operation of the website: https://globalart.co.il. We attach great importance to providing equal service to all citizens and to improving the service provided to citizens with disabilities.

We invest significant resources in making our website and digital assets accessible, in order to make the gallery’s services more available to people with disabilities.

In Israel, approximately 20% of the population are people with disabilities who require digital accessibility in order to consume information and general services. The accessibility of the Global Art Gallery website is intended to make it more available, friendly, and convenient to use for populations with special needs, arising, among other things, from various motor disabilities, cognitive impairments, low vision, blindness or color blindness, hearing impairments, and the elderly population.

The accessibility of this website was carried out by the website accessibility company “Vee – Website Accessibility.”

Accessibility level of the website – AA

The Vee company has adapted the website’s accessibility for popular browsers and for use on mobile phones as much as possible, and used the Jaws and NVDA screen readers in its testing.

The website complies with the requirements of the Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities Regulations (Accessibility Adjustments for Service) 5568-2013, at AA level, and implements the recommendations of the WCAG 2.2 document by the W3C organization.

The website’s accessibility was carried out in accordance with the guidelines of the Government ICT Authority for making internet browser applications accessible.

How to switch to accessible mode?

An accessibility icon is placed on the website (usually on the sides of the site). Clicking the icon opens the accessibility menu. After selecting the appropriate function in the menu, please wait for the page to load and for the desired change in display (if needed).

If you wish to cancel the action, click the function in the menu a second time. In any case, accessibility settings can be reset.

The software works in the popular browsers: Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Opera (subject to manufacturer terms). Browsing in accessible mode is recommended in the Chrome browser.

The website provides a semantic structure for assistive technologies and supports the accepted usage pattern for keyboard operation using the arrow keys, Enter, and Esc to exit menus and windows.

For the best browsing experience with screen reading software, we recommend using the most up-to-date version of NVDA.

Exclusions

It is important to note that despite our efforts to make all pages and elements on the website accessible, there may still be parts or capabilities that have not been properly made accessible or have not yet been made accessible.

We are continuously working to improve the accessibility of our website, as part of our commitment to enable the entire population to use it, including people with disabilities.

Accessibility of the physical venue

Gallery entrance

The entrance to the gallery includes 2 steps, with a total height of 28 cm. A portable ramp, 60 cm long, is available, along with assistance for entry and exit by prior arrangement.

Due to the structure of the entrance, it is not possible to install a ramp with a standard-compliant slope. The steep incline can only be climbed with the assistance of two people, in order to maintain user safety.

The placement of a platform to create a reasonable slope was also examined. Setting up the platform requires assistance, so please coordinate your visit in advance and confirm all details with the gallery.

Passages within the gallery space

The gallery space has accessible passages. The gallery is located on the ground floor.

Restrooms

The gallery does not have accessible restrooms. Accessible restrooms for exhibition visitors are available approximately 100 meters away, at the Sam&Blondi Hotel, 20 Shenkin Street.

Parking

Two disabled parking spaces are located opposite the gallery, subject to availability. The Bezalel parking garage (2 HaMaccabi Street) is approximately a 5-minute walk away.

Service animals

Guide dogs and other service animals are welcome in the gallery.
