“The Woman and the Three Eyes” – Nigeria

Mask made of two joined, attractive female faces. The mouths are carefully drawn and the small ears on either side of the mask are painted red, symbolizing love. The noses are small and the three eyes are hollow; three eyebrows are drawn above them. The entire mask is painted in glossy white. At the top of the mask a crown is drawn in glossy black to represent power, and on its head sits the figure of a man or an animal, symbolizing man’s ability to direct his thoughts.
