“The Elephant” – Ivory Coast

Man’s mask in the shape of an elephant’s head. A long trunk is raised upward along the length of the face, and two slits on either side are used to indicate eyes. Three small ears stick out on both sides of the head. Traditionally the elephant represents livelihood and safety.
