“Shells of Joy and Laughter” – Cameroon
₪0
Mask of laughing man, symbolizing successful livelihood. Both the base of the mask and the top of the head are made of braided rope in the shape of a collar and a crown; the latter represents wealth. The entire face of the mask is covered in green beads, a symbol of successful livelihood from working the land. A thin line of broken shells outlines the mouth, eyes, and nose as a symbol of wealth; the eyes and mouth are open wide in laughter; and the nostrils are flared.
